Review:
I came to watch this movie after I read a review about movie ‘The Circle (2017)’, a disappointed movie from an outstanding director that has already succeed in making an extraordinary movie that touched so many hearts for its feelings that delivered to the audience. Well yeah, glad to come to this one -after I watched The Spectacular Now (2015), which I will review later- and it’s absolutely touching my heart. Yet, it was directed from different director but has same vibe about slices of life.
In this movie we have been shown in how Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck deliver the suicide issues by making it less terrifying and more entertaining. This movie gives us a funny opening, turns out it all about how a teenage boy try to handle  his suicidal thought, it’s kind of horrible thing to watch, isn’t?  But not at all, we still can watch it without any tension yet still got the massages and got amused.
Craig (Gilchrist) is a suicidal teenager who seems to be very lost in his thought of killing himself. Instead of doing that horrible thing, his family pass by on his mind and make him stop. Realize that he can’t handle it alone, he came to a psychiatric hospital and seek for some medications. Later, out of his control, he is admitted to be participated in 5 days programs in the hospital and has to living with others mental disorders patient. Because the juvenile ward is being renovated, so he's in with adults as well as a few youths.
His treatment processes become more exciting as he met Galivanakis (Bobby), a middle aged man who seems so normal but also have a serious problem in his life and mind. Bobby be friend with him and help him to cope with some difficulty while living in the hospital. But, not until Craig met Noelle (Roberts), a girl who has admitted for a longer time with a suicidal behavior, he experienced more joyful time in the hospital and start to enjoy living there with others patient and willingly to participated in hospital sessions.
A 5 days experience of Craig living in a psychiatric hospital unexpectedly gives audience a lot of things to learn in life. For me, it’s not only about Craige and other patients struggle to dealing with their mental disorder, but it’s more about how this movie shows us that anyone, who looks so ordinary, intelligence, and prestigious like Craig, could suffer with a mental issue, and deserved to be treated with full care, concern and equality. We could see how the staff treated the patients with care and respect. There wasn’t a slightest disdain we could tell showing by them while interacting with the patients. Nevertheless, we could see how Craig inspires others by showing his generosity and concern towards each other. We can see how his characters developed into a better one and how a 5 days experience succeeded in changing his perspective.
I couldn't recall any flaw in this movie, all I can remember is how I often smiling and giggling during the movie and the heart content I get after I finish watched it. So, I give this move 9 out of ten! Over all, the story line is good, the acting of the actors and actress is superb, and the movie effects are hilarious. I recommend you to watch it because it’s very worth your time!
