My First Bulgogi!

What is Bulgogi? Bulgogi is a traditional food came from South Korea. I didn't do any particular research about the history of Bulgogi, I just want to share you my first experience try it.

Where did I try it? Unfortunately not in the original country of the food, but at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Yes. I am, an Indonesian, eating South Korean food in Kuala Lumpur. Foreigner ate a foreign food in foreign country 😂

Specifically, I try it in KLCC Mall, at the food court. They provide so many foods from several country. Such as America, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, India, and etc. And I laid my choice on South Korea stand. Why? Simply, back than at Jakarta, in a quite night, I enjoyed watching a South Korea reality show named Youn's Kitchen. The show took place in Gili Trawangan Island, Indonesia (my honeymoon place!!), Unfortunately they took the shoot several months after I came back from there, so there were no chance for me to visit their restaurant.

So, Youn's kitchen was the restaurant which they opened in Gili Trawangan, they served some South Korea foods, one of them was Bulgogi. I watched the whole process from preparing the ingredients until the food was served and it makes my heart flutter. I love how they make it and the Bulgogi looks amazingly delicious.
Like a fate, in KLCC mall, I finally had a chance to try a Bulgogi. So without any hesitation, I ordered a Bulgogi and my husband order other food that I don't remember what.

10 minutes later my food was served and this is the appearance.

I was so excited at that time. Look how they served it! So Korea! And there was also a plate of Kimchi, yeay! 😍 not want the food get cold, I eat it immediately and it's so delicious 😄. I like the taste. Umami. Sweet, sour, salty, and little bit spicy. But I find the taste of the kimchi is kinda odd. I imagine it has another taste. It was too sour for me but I sill ate all of it anyway 😂 (don't waste your food, kids!). The brown soup is kinda uniqe, it has rough texture. From what I watch in Youn's kitchen, one of the ingredients to make the soup is Pear. Yes. A fruit named Pear. So the pear was blend with water and soy sauce. I don't remember other ingredients. How they served it is kinda different compare to in Youn's kitchen. In Youn's kitchen, they served the Bulgogi (the beef and the sauce) by pouring it directly on the plate of hot rice that already served with mix vegetables. And the bulgogi soup has a thick consistency so it more look like a sauce than a soup.

Overall, I satisfied by the taste of the Bulgogi that I ate in KLCC mall food court. I am happy to get a chance to taste it. I hope someday in the future, I get a chance to try a bulgogi in South Korea with my family. 😄

Thank you for ready my experience. Hope you enjoyed it 😃
